I’ve talked to a lot of people lately who are going through the fire. The key words I want you to see in this statement are the words “going through”. We are going through the fire, not remaining in it for the rest of our lives. What is happening to us right now will only last for a season.
The manner in which we look at things, perceive things, will determine the outcome.
So many people today, including Christians, are filled with negative thought patterns, negative attitudes and negative words. They spend their entire days complaining instead of praising. Their families are wearied with the words that keep coming from their mouths like a mighty river. The family dog even lies down and covers up his ears with his paws when the negative blast of words begins to come forth from his master.
No one likes to be around a complaining person. Selah.
Most complainers are people who are not content on the inside. They have issues within themselves that they are not willing to deal with. They are absolutely miserable, therefore making everyone around them miserable too.
For those of us who fall into this category, I have a word for all of us, “Deal with it!” We’ve got to stop the cycle of negativity and receive deliverance from the Lord. Negativity is not from God. Negativity is a blessing blocker. Negativity brings misery instead of joy in the Holy Ghost.
We will never be able to go to the next level in God until we deal with our negativity.
Why are so many people still going around the same mountain over and over again? Why are so many people still in the same place spiritually as they were last year? Could it be that the attitudes of their hearts are not right in the sight of Almighty God and man?
Our attitude determines our altitude.
If we really want to see a breakthrough in our lives, our families and our ministries, we must break the power of this negative attitude.
Hebrews 1:9 – You have loved righteousness {You have delighted in integrity, virtue and uprightness in purpose, thought and action} and You have hated lawlessness {injustice and iniquity}. Therefore God, {even} Your God {Godhead}, has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions.
Negativity stops the flow of the oil of joy. Negativity is like a dam holding back the blessings of God from being poured out upon our lives and ministries.
Jesus doesn’t want His people to be complainers, backbiters, negative and unwilling to do what He has called them to do. He wants His people to be right in the midst of what He is doing in the earth today, enjoying the journey. He wants us to be filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory. He doesn’t want us living our lives missing out on all that He has for us.
I believe we’ve deceived ourselves by not being doers of the word, but hearers only. We go through the motions on Sunday morning and Wednesday night, singing all the right songs, raising our hands, shouting hallelujah, looking good on the outside, but inwardly, we have some real issues that need to be dealt with. We need the Holy Spirit to go down into the very depths of our inner most being and root out wrong heart attitudes. We need the Holy Spirit to bring inner healing to those areas that have suffered past abuse and hurts. If we don’t allow the Lord to heal these areas, we will never be free. We will never be able to walk in the joy of the Lord and receive the fullness of His magnificent blessings.
Whatever is in the heart, the mouth speaks. What is in your heart today?
I challenge you to deal with the negativity in your life. You are not only making yourself miserable, but everyone around you is being sucked up into your quagmire of negativity.”
Jesus wants to set you free from these wrong attitudes, mindsets and strongholds. Ask Him today to deliver you and fill you with His Holy Spirit. Ask Him to anoint you with the oil of joy today. It’s time for you to deal with it.
